Rescue Beauty Lounge Fire Queen

FQ11

The description of Fire Queen speaks for itself:

“My color inspiration comes from Depression Era glass from the 1930s and 1940s—specifically, the pale jade color of the Fire-King line made by the Anchor Hocking Glass Company commonly referred to as “jadeite.” In a sea of imposters, no one has been able to capture the magic of the genuine Fire-King and thus it has become highly coveted since the 1960′s: a small decadence of lean times turned luxury. When you hold a piece of Fire-King up to the light it glows with history. This hue has a build-able jade jelly and the end result looks like milk glass veneers on your fingertips. Both edgy and full of vintage charm, this polish is the perfect fit for any ‘Fire-Queen.’”

I think that sums this up perfectly, especially if you are familiar with Depression Era glass and have a fondness for it. This is milk glass in a nail polish.

I am so happy with this color and there are no words for how beautiful it is. The formula is jelly, so it needs several coats to reach opacity. I used three here. Another thing to note is that this takes a long time to dry, so make sure you have some time set aside to avoid any wrinkles or creases in it.

This is a really unique shade and I highly recommend it! Holly- you need this!

Rescue Beauty Lounge Faraway

Rescue Beauty Lounge is a brand of polish that I’ve been dying to get my hands on, but have never been able to pull the trigger due to the price plus shipping. When RBL had a 50% off sale, I finally took the plunge and purchased two shades from the GOMM collection inspired by Georgia O’Keeffe. One of those shades is Faraway, a light turquoise with some blue-green shimmer that is VERY subtle.

I had really high expectations for this polish due to the hype around this brand. That isn’t to say that I am let down by it or anything; I’m not quite sure what I was expecting with it. The polish applied nicely and was a little thin on the first coat, but opaque with two. It went on the nail smoothly. I love the color and think it is gorgeous!

Overall, I’m happy with this polish and would purchase more from the brand in the future. 🙂
