Butter London Marbs

MARBS11

It’s time for another summery manicure: Butter London Marbs! I love this shade, especially when my skin is a little more tan. This would look AMAZING on someone with a medium to dark skin tone; I think it would really pop! Marbs is described as: “Opaque yellow-gold shimmer. Named for
Marbella on the Mediterranean, the ideal spot to work on your tan.”

This is one of the most yellow golds that I have. It is VERY shiny, and opaque in one coat!

Eventually, I ended up layering it with Sephora by OPI Come to Pappa-razzi, which is a gold, copper, and black glitter. I liked the combination, but it seemed a little ‘Halloween’ combined with Marbs, so I’ll probably save that for fall! If you like the Sephora by OPI shades, they are discontinued, but popping up at Big Lots, so you might be able to find it.

If you’re looking for a shimmery gold, definitely check out Marbs, as it is very summery and beautiful when the light hits. 🙂

Sparkly Gold and Mint Manicure

Hello! I hope you’re having a good week. I’ve been totally hooked on this gold polish I have: Sephora by OPI The Golden Age. It’s just gold glitter with a touch of some silver, but I’ve layering it with everything lately!

In this manicure, I used Zoya Tomoko as accent colors, and Pop Beauty’s Mint Magic as the base layer. This color is SO pretty! My pic is a little dark due to it being winter (natural lighting is poor), but I really got a dose of spring with this manicure. Also, I really like Tomoko! The sparkle is so pretty and the Fairy Dust formula really wears like iron!

What colors have you been enjoying lately?

Sephora by OPI It’s Real 18K Gold Top Coat

So the big nail trend right now is 18 karat gold top coats. There are several out there; Zoya released one in a boxed set with a black and white polish, OPI released “The Man with the Golden Gun” for the new Bond movie, and Sephora by OPI has “It’s Real: 18k Gold Top Coat.” While these top coats are gorgeous, they are also quite expensive.

I believe Zoya’s was the most affordable until it sold out. Both OPI versions were $30, until people started reported seeing the Sephora by OPI polish for $8 in stores and $15 online. I never would have paid $30 for this, but jumped at the half off price point after not seeing it in any stores near me.

On my first use, I paired It’s Real with Illamasqua Charisma. I like the result, but the application was tricky. I felt like it was very difficult to get the amount of gold out of the bottle that I wanted to put on the nail. I also wish that the gold flakes were not so fine, but instead larger pieces.

Before trying this out, I thought the gold would look like glitter, but it definitely doesn’t. The finished product is very unique and pretty, and perfect for the holidays. I can’t wait to see how this looks with different colors! I’ve seen a lot of blogs pairing this with cobalt blue, but I think my next pairing is going to be with a turquoise shade.

What do you think of these top coats? Mom, I can totally see you wearing this. 🙂
