High End Polish Haul!

h1

I recently picked up some high end nail polishes that I have had my eye on for awhile. Let’s jump into it, shall we?

First, I decided to get two more Marc Jacobs polishes. I had my eye on Jezebel for many moons, so I decided to just pick it up this time. It is a deep vampy red shade with just a touch of brightness. Cora is a shimmering burgundy with rose microglitter. This color is really unique!

h2

MAC released a bunch of interesting toppers this year in addition to actually lowering their polish prices. I picked up two of them: Too Short Skirt (coral with pink pearl) and Spoonful of Sugar (pink with pink pearl).

h3

Personally, I find MAC polishes underrated as I have said many times! I love how they wear and I like the color selection.

My big splurge was Dior Lady. I’m a SUCKER for a neutral and natural pink. This is new for spring and every once in awhile I like to splurge on something from Dior if I think it is fantastic, and Lady certainly fits the bill. 🙂

The last thing I picked up was actually with Sephora points perks, and that is the Pink Gel Coat from Perfect Formula. I heard a few raves about this, and since it was a 100 point perk, I decided to give it a try! So far I don’t have any major opinions on it, but I’m anxious to see if it strengthens my nails, since they are pretty weak.

Have you tried any of these shades yet? Coming soon is a comparison post with Lady! 🙂

Fall Nail Haul

haul1

I haven’t been purchasing much polish lately (a good thing), but there are definitely some shades that caught my eye in the last couple months. Above are all of the polishes I’ve purchased from I believe July until now.

Revlon Confident is a Gucci Westman collaboration that looks just like ruby slippers. It has red hex glitter, VERY small bar glitters, and some small circle glitters in a red jelly base. It is surprisingly opaque.

Sinful Colors Cauldron Couture is a polish that I am pretty disappointed with. It doesn’t have the best coverage and needs to be built up. It is a black and green glitter with a clear base, but it doesn’t build very well.

Sinful Colors Charmed is one that I passed up a few times, but I knew I HAD to have it eventually because it is just so pretty! It is a very sparkly pink lavender shimmer.

haul2OPI With a Nice Finnish, LAC My Mani?, Cauldron Couture, Confident, Starry Night, Charmed, Damone Roberts 1968

Wet ‘n’ Wild LAC -My Mani? is a matte creamy beige polish. I just love these types of colors and want to see how the matte WnW formula compares to the others in the line.

Sinful Colors Starry Night is a shade I saw on Instagram and fell in love with. It has less color than Butter London The Black Night, making it seem more like an actual starry night. 🙂 This one is surprisingly opaque, too!

OPI With a Nice Finnish– OF COURSE I had to get this, since I have some Finnish heritage! It’s a beautiful color too- a nice bronzey gold, just like a Finnish sauna! 🙂

OPI Damone Roberts 1968– I was so unsure about this polish, being that it is double the price of other OPI polishes, but I didn’t want to miss out on it forever. I’m going to be doing a comparison post with this color, so stay tuned for that! 🙂

haul3

Finally, I ordered a sheet of Jamberry nail appliques since my sister-in-law was having a Jamberry party. I’ve never tried these before, but hear great things about them. I’m a little worried because my nail beds are so small. I even considered getting the child size Jamberry sheets! My best friend is having a Jamberry party right now, so I’m going to get the application kit and hope that helps with my teeny-tiny nails.

OH! One more exciting nail polish related item: I FINALLY got a Helmer in August! What a handy piece of storage. I’m very happy with that purchase and wish I had gotten one a long time ago!

🙂

Small Haul & Pacific Blue Drama!

nailhaul1

Hi Everyone! Long time, no see! Things have been busy and life just caught up with me I guess. Anyway, I have a small haul to share! First, I picked up three polishes from the drugstore.

The first one is from L’Oreal’s Distressed Denim collection, so it is textured. My hubby bought this one for me! 🙂 The shade is called Distressed Turquoise, although it seems like a baby blue to me.

The next one is Sally Hansen’s Pacific Blue, a CULT classic. Many times I’ve thought to pick this up and never did. Apparently Sally Hansen is reformulating a bunch of polishes in this line, and changing up classic colors, including this one, so I decided to get it (and two back-ups, just in case I loved it). I’m going to review this one soon. If you visit Young, Wild, and Polished on YouTube, she put up a little rant video about it.

Finally, the last shade I picked up is a BEAUTIFUL matte shade, also Sally Hansen. I love this color so much. It’s called Coastin’ By, and it is limited edition.

nailhaul3

I also picked up two packs of nail art stickers by Sinful Colors. I found these at Walgreens, and they were $2 each. I can’t resist a good beach theme! The first set is called ‘Rad-a-Tat’.

nailhaul2

The next set is called ‘It’s All Tat’. We’ll see how they work!

What polishes have you picked up lately?

Spring Polish Haul!

haul1

Hello! What spring polish collections have been catching your eye? I haven’t actually purchased any polish for awhile, and then I was out and about and saw a bunch of new collections! Here’s what I picked up.

haul4

CoverGirl has a new collection out where Katy Perry is the spokeswoman. It contains a beautiful metallic rose shade called “Being Blonde.” I also saw this really unique polish in the Sally Hansen Triple Shine collection called “Sparktacular.” It’s orange and teal micro-glitter mixed together. I definitely don’t have anything like that!

haul3

Sinful Colors has a few new displays with beautiful summer polishes! I especially loved the “Simmer Down” display. I picked up the following from Rite Aid:

Hot Chili– Metallic red with shimmer and some larger red glitters
Coral Reef– Hot coral cream with blue shimmer
Lively in Lilac– I can’t believe I got this color, but it looked unique. It’s a deep plum/blurple jelly base with orange glitter.
Mint Tropics– Yet another minty green….

haul2

China Glaze was buy two, get one free at Sally Beauty Supply, and I can never pass that up, especially when there are new GLITTERS from the Surprise! collection. I picked up two, plus one neon from previous collection:

I’m a Go Glitter– Light blue, fuchsia, and minty green glitter
Don’t Be a Flake– Black, turquoise, and pink glitter
Rose Among Thorns– Hot neon pink/coral

I definitely want to get some of the new Butter London Brights! shades too, but haven’t just yet. Which polishes have you picked up lately?

Mid-Winter Polish Haul!

haul5

Hello! I hope you’re having a great weekend. I have a polish haul to share today, starting with the Julep Freedom Polymer top coat. I actually redeemed some Sephora points to try this, so I hope it’s good. If you’ve tried it, let me know!

haul3

OPI Push and Shove is a mirrored polish that is designed to last for a very short time period, like a night out. I wasn’t going to get this, but I LOVE how it looks, and I found it half off at Sally Beauty Supply, so I decided to give it a go. I think this will be great if I want awesome nails for race days this summer. 🙂

haul2

Also at Sally Beauty, I picked up these colors: China Glaze Chrome Wrinkling the Sheets, China Glaze Sand Dolla Make you Holla, China Glaze Seahorsin’ Around, and Orly FX Milky way. I only spent $16 at Sally Beauty thanks to a sale and clearance, so you might want to check it out if you live near one!

haul1

From the drugstore, I got a couple more of the Gel Lacque shades from L’Oreal. I am going to be reviewing the system soon, and I am REALLY happy with it. I hope they make more colors!

haul6

Also from the drugstore, Revlon Gold Goddess, which I am fairly certain is a Zoya dupe, but that is for another day. 🙂 I also picked up two more of the L’Oreal textured polishes: Pop the Bubbles and Diamond in the Rough. I LOVE THESE. L’Oreal makes great polish, and I’m pretty sure these textured ones are permanent; they were in my display anyway.

haul4

Last stop: Ulta! I picked up Piggy Polish Glam Slam, which is HUGE glitter of all shades, Nailtiques Formula 2 after hearing Holly talk about it for so long, and Butter London Goss, which is a pink, rose gold shade.

pigGlam Slam up close!

I’m really excited to try the Formula 2 treatment. My nails are at a great length right now, and I want to keep it that way!

Have you picked up any polish recently?

Holiday Polish Haul!

haul3

Hello and Happy New Year! I’m finally done with my holiday traveling and am ready to settle into 2014. I did get some nail related goodies for Christmas, and picked up some on my own as well.

My sister gave me the entire China Glaze Magnetic nail polish set, and it is SO gorgeous! The rich jewel tones really appeal to me.  Thank you, Molly!

haul

Zoya Rue– This was a purchase I made. One of my cats is named Rhoda, and we always call her “Roo”. That combined with the gorgeous color…well, I got suckered into that pink nude!

Revlon Top Speed in Pink Lingerie– I haven’t seen this polish near me, and bought it while my husband and I were visiting his family. I love the Top Speed formula, and this color is just totally me.

Sally Hansen Glitter Gun– Gold and white glitter. I had to! Plus, it was under a buck at Target. Thank you, clearance!

Sinful Colors Decadent– Red glitter! Another clearance find. Glad I caught this one before the holidays ended too.

CoverGirl Glosstini in Red Rouge- This is the color of FIRE, and it was in my Christmas stocking from the in-laws. Very pretty…can’t wait to wear this on my toes!

Catrice Pinkroque was sent in a swap from my dear friend Luchessa!  I can’t wait to wear this and try the brand too. Thank you, Luchessa!  You know my kind of colors! 😉

haul2

L’Oreal Collection Privee in Doutzen’s Nude– This is a pink nude, slightly darker than Zoya Rue.

Sally Hansen Satin Glam in Go Gold– This is a new textured polish, and it looks amazing in the bottle. Satin seems to be the finish that will be popular in 2014, so I’m looking forward to seeing what this is like.

Pretty soon I will be posting my favorite polishes of 2013, so stay turned for that! 🙂

Weekend Polish/Nail Art Haul

haul

Hello! I picked up a few nail related things this weekend and thought I would share. It has been awhile since I’ve looked at any new polish in the drugstore, and there were a few things that caught my eye! Let’s start with the polish!

haul3

Sinful Colors Cold As Ice– This is a pure white bar glitter. WHITE!!! I love white polish and I just had to get this. I think this is going to be fun to layer over so many different colors!

haul4

Sinful Colors Tinsel & Shine– This is another bar glitter, but darker and multi-colored. This really sparkles and will look gorgeous over black, burgundy, or dark blue.

haul6

Sinful Colors Got A Blush On You– This shade is part of the textured Sinful Colors line, Crystal Crushes. Because of that, it’s $3 instead of $2. These were on sale for a little less than that at Walgreens when I purchased them.

haul7

Sinful Colors Treasure Chest– Another textured polish here; this is the first one that I saw in a photo on Instagram and HAD to have it. It’s turquoise with some gold. I can’t wait to see how these compare to Liquid Sand and the Zoya Pixie Dust textured polishes.

haul8

The last nail polish I picked up is this “Magic Top Coat”, which is a limited edition L’Oreal polish called The Holographic. Every time I saw the display with these top coats, this one was always sold out. Finally, I got my hands on it! Sparkly toppers seem to be a huge deal right now.

haul2

The last things I got are from the Dollar Tree. First, Dashing Diva Color FX polish strips, which I believe are a salon/professional product. I did find them on Amazon for $8, but haven’t seen them anywhere else. Since they were only $1 I got three different shades: Ooh-La-Lita (hot red pink), Entre Nous (teal green), and Afterglow (baby pink). I also spotted two Revlon nail art stencils there, and got the cherry blossoms one and the other one is just stars. The Dollar Tree also had several Milani and Sinful Colors polishes there, and even had the Sally Hansen magnetic polishes if that is something your heart desires!

What polishes have you picked up recently?

HUGE OPI Haul!

OPI5

Hello! I haven’t posted in a few days due to being out of town and having a lot to catch up on! I’m back now with a huge OPI polish haul. Sadly, a local salon chain went bankrupt and everything in their stores is 75% off right now. I genuinely feel terrible for the company and the people that work there. One of the employees told me that people just aren’t coming to salons and buying the products anymore, which I thought was sad. I actually often purchased polish from this store (Trade Secret) because they always had new OPI collections before other places locally.

While I did get a couple of conditioners for my hair, I HAD to share my huge OPI haul. It was only $2.25 per bottle, so I admit, I did go a little crazy. I also purchased some gifts, which are not seen here of course! Let’s start with the boring stuff: OPI Expert Touch lint free nail wipes and a tiny bottle of their polish remover, which I’ve never tried, pictured above. Now, onto the polish!

OPI1Live and Let Die, In My Back Pocket, Die Another Day, and Green-wich Village

OPI2

Ski Teal We Drop, Unfor-Greta-Bly Blue, German-icure by OPI, and Dining Al Frisco

OPI3

Sweet Heart, Chocolate Moose, Uh Oh, Roll Down the Window, and Bubble Bath (I have a mini of this so I’m excited to have the full size!)

OPI4

Two bottles of Ridge Filler (love this stuff), Here Today, Aragon Tomorrow, and Solitaire (a back up)

I just realized that I forgot to photograph one shade, and that is another liquid sand color, Vesper (another Bond Girls shade). I actually went to two locations for these shades. One store had a lot more polish than the other, and a better shade variety. They also had some China Glaze textured polishes, but I wasn’t really interested in those after seeing swatches online.

It looks like I have a lot of swatching to do!

Shopping With My Mom Polish Haul!

haul

Phew! It is HOT outside! Personally, I’m not a fan of anything above 70, so this 90+ business is pure misery. Anyway, my parents are in town so my mother and I went out to a few stores. Now is the time to shop for makeup and nail polish! Summer and spring collections are on major clearance to make way for fall collections. Here’s what I picked up!

haul2

These two Orly polishes were Marshall’s finds. First up is Lollipop, a nice cool-toned pink lavender shade, and then Pink Chocolate, which is a brown-toned creamy pink. I think I’m going to use Lollipop first!

haul3

The next three are Rite Aid finds. They have tons of nail polish on clearance right now! Also, Revlon is 40% off, so I finally bought Celestial FX, which was recommended to me by a friend. Gogo Girl is a vibrant red jelly from Sinful Colors, and 18K Gold is a mix of gold glitters from Wet ‘n’ Wild. I can’t wait to use this one because I was lusting after Deborah Lippmann glitters earlier this morning!

haul4

The last one is from L.A. Girl, and it is a royal blue holographic polish. I REALLY wanted the black polish from this collection, but never picked it up, so I decided to get something different and get the blue one. I wasn’t the only one who got polish: she picked up a really pretty teal “mermaid” shade!

Have you tried any of these colors?

Comprehensive Spring/Summer Polish Haul!

haul

Hello! Thanks so much for reading this post, and stopping by. I really appreciate it! 🙂 Today I’m sharing a rather large, but comprehensive polish haul, meaning that these are the polishes I’ve purchased in the last three months. In looking at this, I’m realizing that I forgot to add two, but I will mention them anyway. 🙂

Let’s start with the ones I completely forgot to include: Butter London Keks and Torch! Torch is a gorgeous coral/orange with golden shimmer, available from Nordstorm.

Now, I’ll start left to right with the top row of the photo.

Sally Hansen All Fired Up– This is so vibrant! It is a warm red with a tinge of orange. I saw one of my favorite bloggers write about it and it looked amazing on her. Plus, I had a coupon so it was justified. 😉

NARS Versailles– Oh. MY. Gosh. This gold is just flat out sexy. Love.

Illamasqua Hemlock, Pink Raindrops, and Raindrops– Need I say more about these? Cult classic must haves. I’ll be blogging about these soon, for sure.

These OPI shades I was really excited about. The place to buy OPI is at hair salons. I always see them marked down to buy one, get two free, which is a crazy deal. I got Suzi’s Hungary Again, A Roll in the Hague, and Glitzerland!

Now for the second row! That mini bottle of Candy Darling is from a NARS set that was released with the Andy Warhol collection. It’s your standard hot fuchsia!

OPI Charmed By A Snake is one I had to track down online, since it’s from the old India collection. This is a sexy brown/bronze shade.

These two Essie polishes are true cult classics: Ballet Slippers and Fiji!

haul2

Orly Beautiful Garbage is a teal holographic glitter polish in a jelly base.

These two shades from China Glaze are from the summer Sunsational collection! Keeping It Teal and Sun of a Peach are both JELLIES! I can’t wait to wear these.

Finally, I have two from MAC: Tropical and Bleu Velvet. Tropical is pure bronze glitter goodness, and Bleu Velvet is a light periwinkle shade. I know MAC gets a bad rap for their polish, but I have had pretty good luck with them so far!

Anything catching your eye?
