Sephora X Firecracker

firecracker

Sephora X has some fantastic glitter polishes. Case in point: Firecracker! This is a matte peachy orange hex glitter polish. I’m not sure if this is available anymore, because I found it at Sephora in the clearance polishes, but it might be worth checking eBay and Sephora stores, since they tend to vary.

The formula is great. No need to move around the glitter constantly, and you get a lot out with one swipe. I usually use two light coats so I can get better control over the glitter.

I layered it over Illamasqua Nomad (my fave green polish ever).

Sephora X Illustrious

SephoraX

Oh, Illustrious. Described as “pistachio pearl”, this is such a beautiful minty green, but not your standard mint green. This has a lovely, pearl finish that looks like a very subtle metallic. And how cute are these Sephora X bottles?

The color is fantastic; the formula is just average. It’s not amazing (like OPI), but it’s not terrible either. Colors like this are prone to streaking, and this is no exception. A good top coat will minimize any unevenness from streaking, and working with thin coats.

Have you tried many shades in the Sephora X line? What do you think of them?

Sephora X TNT

tnt11

Hi Everyone! I hope you had a nice Thanksgiving if you’re in the US. I spent mine out of town with the in-laws. The manicure I have for today is from awhile ago. I wish the photos were better too, but we have reached the time of year with hardly any daylight and constant clouds! 😦 Usually I go crazy when the sun is out and take as many pictures as I can.

Sephora just revamped their polish line and when I saw swatches of TNT, I HAD to have it! This is a cobalt glue glitter in a clear base. I don’t have anything like it! I used it over Illamasqua Radium, which I liked, but I think I would like it more over white or maybe even pale pink, something like OPI Mod About You, perhaps?

The formula on here is great. It’s easy to get a lot of glitter in one swipe.

Have you tried the Sephora X revamp yet?

Sinful Colors Citrine: Dupe for Sephora’s Tangerine Tango?

Last night I read on Nouveau Cheap that Sinful Colors Citrine is an apparent dupe for Sephora’s Tangerine Tango polishes that were released as a limited edition set with Pantone. I did not care for the polishes, but I did get the lip gloss set because I thought it was the most unique of the Sephora + Pantone offerings. After seeing that Citrine was a possible dupe for Tangerine Tango, I decided to pick up a bottle at Rite Aid. Citrine is on the “Wow Pop” display and I haven’t seen that one at Walgreens, where Sinful Colors is on sale right now for .99.

Here is Citrine against the Sephora box. It looks like a pretty good match here, at least to me!

Here is a full sun swatch on the nail wheel. I think this is a really unique color and has a little more kick than other orange colors, which is why I totally admit to hopping on the Tangerine Tango bandwagon!

Here’s the swatch against the box. This is just natural light, indoors.

Here’s the kicker! Full sun, next to the lip gloss. They are very similar and Citrine is a good dupe for Tangerine Tango, at least to me! For $2, if you want to get with the trend, this is a bargain compared to the $24 nail polish set at Sephora.
